In My Mailbox (#5)!

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by amazing Kristi @ The Story Siren.

Let's see what I got this week! This was a pretty quiet week and I wasn't too eager to add too much books on my TBR pile. I guess I have to read finish the pile soon, or it will just get bigger and bigger! :)

Received from Netgalley, thank you Netgalley and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt! This sounds like amazing read. I love assassin, kind of remind me of Poison Study (which is absolutely amazing!).

Received from the author. Thank you, Ada! She is super nice and she'll be here on March 28 for interview+GIVEAWAY! I hope you guys will drop a visit on the date! Pretty please? ;)

Received from Netgalley. Thank you Netgalley and Abrams! I wasn't really interested with the book but once I read that she is on the school radio, I'm instantly intrigued! I love books about music and radio!

Received from Galley Grab! Thank you, Simon and Schuester! I really miss the newsletter, hopefully they will sort things out and distribute the newsletter again soon! <3

I tried the quiz on Random Buzzer and needless to say, I know that I have to read this book after completing the quiz! Gown to kill for, Russian royals, and necromancer? Definitely my kind of read!

I read some lovely reviews about this book. This seems like a perfect contemporary read! I love the cover, so cute!

That's all what I got this week! Have you read any of the books? I'm so curious to see what everyone got this week, please share with me! I hope you guys have amazing books this week! :)

PS: I want to know, how long it takes for you to read and review a book from Netgalley? Just curious so I can learn whether I'm a snail reader (which I suspected) and quicken my pace! Thank you in advance for the answer, you guys are amazing! :)

Thank you for following, MaryAnn! You're amazing! And I'm sorry to hear about the loss of the GFC followers data, I can't believe if it happens to me! X(

  4. Grave Mercy seems to be the popular read this week, I can't wait for it to be released! Revamped and Never Enough sound like good ones too!
I've only read a few books from NetGalley, and I've noticed that I'm a slower reader when I have to read books on my Nook/PC, lol! When I hold a book, I can feel how many pages I have left and want to get through - through an electronic device, it's like not wearing a watch! I never know where I stand!
Enjoy all of you newbies :) Happy reading!

    1. I agree, Margie! When I'm reading ebook, I keep looking at the page counter. I keep counting how many pages I have to read until I finish the book, and I always feel like fainting when I still have 300 pages waiting LOL! I hope that I can be a faster ebook reader! I can't wait to read Grave Mercy ASAP! Happy reading, Margie! :)

  5. You've got some great books! I'm totally looking forward to reading The Fine Art of Truth and Dare and The Gathering Storm! I'm looking forward to what you think, I need to know whether or not I should buy them!

Normally, it depends with my NetGalley books. Sometimes, I read them right when I get them, other times, I wait. I try to read them 1 or 2 months after I get them, but sometimes that doesn't happen...

    1. I'm 1/3 through The Gathering Storm, and I fall in love with the setting! I just love Russian names, plus I love the ball and the dance at that time! I hope that I can finish the book soon! :)

Oh, it's so cool that you try your best to read them ASAP, Aneeqah! The time when I instantly read what I get from NetGalley is such a long time ago... now I'm just procrastinating! It makes me feel guilty and keep me up all night LOL! Thanks for answering honestly! :D

  6. Great haul! I can't wait to read Grave Mercy. Will get to it soon! I bought The Fine Art of Truth or Dare. Got it few weeks back. It sounds like a fun book and I LOVE the cover as well xD I'm excited to read Welcome Caller, This is Chloe. It was one of the first books I requested (nearly six-seven weeks back) after joining NetGalley. It sounds really cute!

For me, my reading speed depends on the book. Some might take less than a day to read. Others take a week or a two. By the time I get to reviewing them it's usually few days before the release date. It's a combination of my slowness and that I always end up procrastinating till the last minute EVEN if I've read the book way before.

But most of the time I'll end up starting with the book only a week before the release date. This might change in the summer, when I have more time and can maybe get ahead! How long do you take? I'm curious xD

    1. Wow, Ajoop, it seems like we have a lot of same titles waiting! I so can't wait to compare our reviews, hopefully we both love the books! I read many great reviews on Welcome, Caller, This Is Chloe, and I know that I can't miss the book! :)

Wow, it's awesome that you can finish the NetGalley book in less than a day! I mean, most of them have thick pages! I don't mind reading thick physical books, but it comes to a problem when it's ebook! :( I know, sometimes we just need the muse to write a review LOL! :D

It usually takes 2-3 weeks before I start reading the book from NetGalley! Once I read the book, I'm determined to finish and review it asap lol! I hope I'll have more time to read ebooks when I'm in my summer break (which is in June, such a long time!). Thanks for answering my curiosity, Ajoop, you rock! <3

  8. Your question about reviewing NG titles - I read/review them about the time they release. Unless it's something I'm dying to read, then I'll read it ASAP and save the review until closer to release date.

The Fine Art of Truth and Dare looks SO cute. I'm going to have to check out ReVamped!

    Thanks for stopping by LIO!

    1. Awesome, Amanda! Thanks you so much for answering, you're amazing! :) I'm wondering whether I should save the review until two weeks from the release date. Some publishers also ask to publish the review at least one month before the release date, so I guess your way might be the best.

Both books have gorgeous covers, hopefully I will fall in love with the stories too! Can't wait to start reading it! <3

  10. That's an amazing collection! The fine art of Truth or Dare seems popular and a must-read. Waiting for your review!
As for the reading speed, it depends on my mood and the book! If it's something I know that HAS to be good, I'll deliberately read it slow, to enjoy every moment (or page!) of it. Or if it's something like a light read, I'll get over with it in a couple of days. No harm being a snail reader sometimes ;)

    Happy reading your pile! :)
And thanks for joining my blog. I'm happy to return the same. :)

You got some great looking books though! I'm super curious about Grave Mercy, The Gathering Storm and The Fine Art of Truth and Dare! I hope they're as good as they seem. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on them:)

About NG, it differs how long it takes to actually read the book, but I usually go for having them read before the publishing date!

Hope you enjoy and thanks for stopping by!

  20. This week doesn't feel quiet at all, Hilda -- it's so full of amazing books! I really, really want to read what you think of Grave Mercy because it sounds like SUCH a fantastic book and everyone seems to be raving about it! And The Fine Art of Truth or Dare does have an adorable cover! :)

Amazing mailbox this week, Hilda! <3 I think it really depends for me how fast I can read a book. I can almost always finish a book in a night, but some days I'm so swamped with homework and blogging that I just can't do it! And how long it takes to write a review? Oh gosh, I don't think it's ever taken me less than an hour for each LOL! I'm so bad at putting my thoughts together that sometimes I sit at the computer and think about it before I can start to type! x)

    1. Grave Mercy does sound like an awesome read, Mimi! I keep reading great reviews about the book. The Fine Art of Truth or Dare is unquestionably one of the best covers in March! <3

Thank you, Mimi! Oh, it's epic that you can finish most book in one night! I love the feeling of savoring every page of the book so it usually takes me a few days to finish a book. Sometimes I can finish a really good book in one sit too, but only in rare moments. :D Now I see why your reviews are so beautiful, Mimi, you put so much passion on them! I really admire it! <3
