Follow Friday!

Hello! This is the second time I do a Follow Friday. Follow Friday is a fun weekly meme hosted at Parajunkee & Alison Can Read. So question of the week is:

Have you ever looked at book's cover and thought, This is going to horrible? But, was instead pleasantly surprised? Show us the cover and tell us about the book.

The Perks of Being Wallflower's cover (left one) doesn't exactly draw me in. I'm not a big fan of the color used in the cover. Plus, I know that the legs on the top right corner is supposed to be the representation of wallflower, but it kind of creeps me a bit actually. I picked this book because my friends highly recommend this and I like the title. I prefer the cover on the right side. I love the handwriting and the pink, white, and black color. I get around my cover prejudice and really like the book anyway. Can't wait to watch the movie! Logan Lerman and Emma Watson! My dream comes true. :)

Don't forget to leave your FF link so I can return the favor! Happy weekend! :)

  1. Wow, that cover on the right is horrible! I wouldn't even be able to pick up a book with a cover that bad haha! The one on the left is much, much better! I like how it looks like a torn piece of notebook paper, and also how the paper clip is holding on the photo strip.

  2. Beautiful blog! Thanks for stopping by and following! I've RTF-ed!

Woah. that is one block-of-a-colour cover! O_O Agreed on the colour, I don't like it either! :( It's great how your picks are actually quite similar in design style, yet the one on the right is much more effective! <3

Thanks, I much prefer the second cover! I like green color, but I'm not even really sure what color it is on the first cover LOL! Well, not my favorite color. :D

  4. I agree with you completely, I definitely don't like the first cover! It's... much too simple. I like simple covers and all, but I think this one is a little too simple. I haven't heard of this book before, but I'm thinking I'll add it to my TBR! I like the title. =)

    1. It's awesome that you also think so, Aneeqah! The first cover really doesn't do this book a justice. I'm glad that you're going to pick this book, can't wait to hear your thought on it! Yay, the title is what makes me intrigued to read the book too, beside the praises! <3

  5. Wow, yeah, the one on the left - all that green - it would totally turn me off. I try to get over judging covers too, but it doesn't always work. :/

Have a great weekend! Thanks for following, I'm following back!

    1. I agree, Amber! It's really hard not to judge a book by its cover, especially when the first thing I see in a book is the cover. :D

  6. I'm so used to the Perks cover that I don't really think anything of it right now! I like how sparse it is actually but I can see how it's creepy. I like the text in the other too! I'm a fan of Logan Lerman and Emma Watson so I'm excited for the film. :D

  11. Both cover look pretty hideous to me. :P I wish I could say I don't judge books by their covers, but everyone knows how much of a cover lover I am and it's always the pretty ones that draw my attention first. ;) Still, it's always a lovely surprise when a book manages to change your expectations! :)

    1. Haha thanks for your honesty, Sam! I agree that pretty cover is what draw my attention first. Then I look at the blurb. :D It always makes me happy to read awesome books, however hideous the cover is LOL! :D

  12. LOL so true, Hilda! x) The first time I saw that cover when I heard about this book, I thought it was so plain and not-pretty-looking! I mean, it's practically just pure green with words in the corners and feet! I feel bad when I say that the only time I gave this book a second look was first because I heard about the movie with Logan Lerman and Emma Watson and Nina Dobrev -- which I love too! ;) But I've heard some really amazing things about it so I'm glad you loved it too! :)

Awesome answer, Hilda! I'm definitely planning on reading the book before I watch the movie! :) <3

  13. Those are really... interesting covers. (My word for when I don't have anything to say.) It sounds like it's an interesting book, but the first title...ooh. That one really is weird. The second one's a lot better to me. :)
